Only Yesterday

Taeko, 27 and working in Tokyo, takes leave to help with the safflower harvest on a farm in Yamagata. On the night train her fifth-grade self from 1966 starts sitting beside her, bringing memories of a first pineapple, fractions she could never grasp, and a boy who liked her. Spending the days in the country with Toshio, a young man committed to organic farming, she finally starts to answer what her ten-year-old self keeps asking her.
