Heidi is put to lessons alongside Clara, but her head is full of the mountain. One day, feeling sorry for Clara's caged bird, she sets it free, and is locked in the cellar as punishment. When she is let back upstairs, she brings a mouse from the cellar with her, and the whole house is thrown into uproar.
