Heidi, Girl of the Alps

Orphaned at five, Heidi is taken by her aunt Dete to live with her grandfather, who lives alone in a hut high in the Alps. The gruff old man the villagers fear slowly opens up to her brightness, and with Peter the goatherd she comes to love life on the mountain with her whole heart. Then one day she is taken away to a wealthy house in Frankfurt, to be a companion for Clara, a girl who cannot walk.
