The Heike Story

Those Not of the Heike Are Not Human

As the Heike stand at the summit of power and wealth, Kiyomori's heir Shigemori grows uneasy at his father's ambition. Biwa, a girl whose biwa-player father was cut down by the Heike's young spies, slips into Shigemori's mansion and tells him the Heike will soon fall. Shigemori, whose eye sees the dead, takes in Biwa, whose eye sees the future, and has her live alongside his sons Koremori, Sukemori, and Kiyotsune.
