Kabamaru is raised deep in the mountains of Iga, drilled in ninja technique by his grandfather, and when the old man dies he goes to Tokyo as his grandfather asked him to. He is taken in by Ran Ookubo, the head of a prestigious school and the woman his grandfather once loved. Given a room on condition that he attends the school, Kabamaru turns both the household and the campus upside down with a bottomless appetite and the manners of someone raised on a mountainside.
